Shining in silence, growing in peace.
Sometimes a new thought comes quietly.
That’s how it was for me.

My first real encounter with extended meditation sessions took place during a day of silence at the MBSR seminar in the ecovillage Sieben Linden. I had never sat on a meditation cushion before—and was surprised at how pleasant prolonged sitting could suddenly feel. It was as if my body had finally understood what it means to arrive. Soft, upright, supported. I wanted to have that at home too.

I just sat there—without any goal, just breathing—and suddenly there was this impulse: to dye meditation cushions with plant-based colors. They are cushions made of fabric—fabrics can be dyed. With plant-based dyes, just like we do at mariblum with baby slings made from hemp and linen. After all, the cotton of the cushions is just fabric too. And fabric can be dyed. Naturally.

I wrote down this thought when it began to haunt me, really just to let it go. But it stayed. And turned into an idea for plant-dyed meditation cushions.

At first, I was probably captivated by the connection. The connection between the colors and the feeling, nature and silence. But I also wanted it differently: these colors were meant to create spaces. For you. For your breath. For arriving.

The cushions are hand-dyed with vegan plant-based colors – piece by piece, mindfully and vibrantly.
The filling is made of spelt husks from certified organic farming, pleasantly moldable and supportive at the same time.

Each cushion is more than just a seat – it’s an invitation to connect with yourself.

You can feel it. They are not mass-produced, but an invitation.
An invitation to sit deeper, become softer, live more naturally.
